Checklist for preparing shipments

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check that their submission meets all the elements shown below. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the authors.

The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).

I understand that there are some costs per publication (see section 'Notices') when my article is accepted.

Attach the letter of authorship and transfer of rights with which all the signing authors agree.

I provide a main presentation sheet that includes:
a) Title (in Spanish or Portuguese and in English); b) Authors and c) affiliation or workplace.

Text is single spaced; Arial 12 point font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end. The text is in a file whose format is: OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect.

The file with its original text is COMPLETE including: title, abstract, keywords, full text with incorporated figures and tables, bibliography (see Publication rules).

ATTENTION: to ensure anonymous peer review, DO NOT include here the cover letter, transfer of rights or any identification of the authors or their Work Centers.

The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines for Authors that appear in 'About the journal'. Wherever possible, URLs and DOIs are provided for bibliographic references in accordance with Vancouver standards.

Guidelines for authors

- Publication costs.

Since its founding forty years ago, the magazine has been free of charge. Since September 2020, very low costs per publication have been applied in order to guarantee the quality of the magazine and improve its reach and dissemination. They are currently:

- Modalities of publication.

Originals are currently accepted in the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Originals that can be assigned to the following modalities and types will be accepted:

Original articles.  Complete description of a basic or clinical investigation that provides sufficient information to allow a critical and rigorous evaluation. The maximum length will be 14 pages  INCLUDING  a maximum of 4 tables, 4 figures and up to 30 bibliographic references. 
Short collaborations.  They will be smaller original articles whose length does not exceed 6 pages  INCLUDING  up to 2 tables, 2 figures and up to 15 bibliographic references.
Reviews. They will be reviews of previous publications related to a topic of interest that contain a critical analysis that allows conclusions to be drawn. 
Letters to the journal:  related to articles that appeared in the publication. Its maximum length will be 2 pages.
Others.  Additionally, clinical cases, news, reports, conferences, courses, calls for meetings and congresses as well as awards and scholarships will be admitted for publication. The extension and form of presentation of the texts received for this section will be subject without prior notification to the modifications that the Editorial Committee deems appropriate.

- Elaboration of originals.

The preparation of the original manuscript must be done in accordance with the Standards and Requirements of Uniformity of the International Committee of Directors of Medical Journals (official version in English accessible at the electronic address:  http://www.icmje.org . For translation in Spanish You can check the URL link:   http://www.metodo.uab.es/enlaces.htm ).

IMPORTANT:

The manuscript must be presented in a unified format: Arial font, 12 point size and single spacing.

For the correct reception and treatment of the originals, the following must always be included IN INDEPENDENT FILES:

- Letter from the authors assigning the rights and acknowledging their authorship.

- Main page with the title and the authors and their work centers.

- Full text (settings, tables, bibliography, etc.) of the original. For peer review, DO NOT include data to identify the authors.

1. Letter from the authors.

You must state in it:

Type of item being sent

Statement that it is an original text and is not in the process of being evaluated by another journal.

Any type of conflict of interest or the existence of financial implications.

The assignment to the Journal of the exclusive rights to edit, publish, reproduce, distribute copies, prepare derivative works on paper, electronic or multimedia, and include the article in national and international indexes or databases.

In works with more than one author, the approval of all signatories must be recorded.

Authors must declare the figures, drawings, graphics, illustrations or photographs incorporated in the text as their own. Otherwise, they must obtain and provide prior authorization for its publication and, in any case, provided that people can be identified.

Contact details of the main author: full name, postal and electronic address, telephone number and institution.

In the case of studies carried out on human beings, compliance with the ethical standards of the corresponding Research or Clinical Trials Committee and the current Declaration of Helsinki must be stated, available in Spanish at the URL:  http: //www.metodo. uab.es/enlaces.htm

2. Main page: title and authors.

The following information will be indicated on a separate page and in this order:

Title of the article in Spanish or Portuguese and in English.

Surname and first name of all authors, separated from each other by a comma. It is recommended that a maximum of eight authors appear. By means of Arabic numbers, in superscript, each author will be related, if applicable, with the name of the institution to which they belong. DO NOT provide unnecessary data such as studies, academic position, etc.

E-mail address that they wish to include as a contact in the publication and that will coincide with the one indicated by the main author.

ATTENTION:  to refer to each author, only his Work Center (Department, Faculty, etc.) and the University or institution to which he belongs will be cited, without citing studies, author's position, etc. The city, province, state, etc. it will only be added when confusion may occur.

CONTACT:  The email address is the one that

a) you want to be listed as a contact in your article and

b) the ONLY one with which a written relationship with the magazine can be maintained. Correspondence from other authors or with other email addresses will not be received or responded to.

3. Full text of the original.

Qualification.

Summary.

The maximum length will be 300 words. It should be understandable by itself. The originals sent in English will be written entirely in this language.

The originals sent in Spanish will contain a summary compulsorily written in the following languages: a) Spanish and b) English. In the case of originals in Portuguese, the abstract will be submitted in a) Portuguese, b) Spanish and c) English. It should not include bibliographic citations or abbreviated words. The usual structure will always be respected in the summary:

4. Keywords.

A maximum of 5 keywords must be included at the end of the abstract that will match the Descriptors of the Medical Subjects Headings (MeSH) accessible at the following URL:

5. Abbreviations.

A list of abbreviations present in the work will be included with their corresponding explanation.

The first time the word to be abbreviated appears, both in the abstract and in the text, it will be followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. In the rest of the text, the abbreviation may already appear without further additions.

6. Text.

It is necessary to specify, in the methodology, the design, the studied population, the statistical systems and any other data necessary for the perfect understanding of the work.

7. Acknowledgments.

In this section, the material and economic aids of all kinds must be cited, indicating the entity or company that provided them. These mentions must be known and accepted for inclusion in these "acknowledgments".

8. Conflict of interest.

Possible conflicts of interest should be detailed in this section.

9. Bibliography.

They must meet the Uniform Requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Vancouver style), as stated above.

Bibliographic references will be ordered and numbered in order of appearance in the text, identified by superscript Arabic numbers. If the reference has more than six authors, the first six authors will be included, followed by et al.

To cite medical journals, the abbreviations included in the Journals Database, available at the URL:  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=journals will be used  ) or, failing that, those included in the catalog of periodical publications in Spanish health science libraries (http://www.c17.net/c17/).

10. Figures and photographs.

Tables and figures will be ordered and numbered in order of appearance in the text, identified by Arabic numbers in the title, which will be placed above the table or figure. In the text they should be referred to within a sentence or in parentheses.

The title and content of each table or figure must allow the understanding of it without having to go to the writing. The content of the text should not be replicated in the tables or figures. The tables will be attached to the end of the document with the same type of font as the text, in black and white.

The figures will be attached at the end of the document, behind the tables. They will be made using appropriate computer programs that guarantee good reproduction (300 pixels of resolution per inch) in BMP, TIF or JPG format. Power-point, PDF or similar files are not supported.Figures must be in color.

- Evaluation of originals.

Papers submitted for publication will be evaluated using the peer review method. The main author may propose reviewers who are not linked to the original submitted.

The Editorial Office will acknowledge receipt of the work sent to the magazine as soon as possible. In the same communication, you will be notified of the decision of the editorial committee which, if necessary, may request certain modifications for the adaptation of the manuscript to the standards of the journal.

After confirmation by the journal's editorial committee, the work will enter the peer review process. If the reviewers require modifications of the manuscript for its improvement, the authors will have a maximum period of two weeks to carry them out from the moment of communication.

If finally the committee and the reviewers consider the work suitable for publication, the manuscript will go to the layout process and finally the printing proof will be sent to the corresponding author, who is responsible for carefully reviewing possible errors.

The proof reviewed by the author must be sent to the editorial committee within a maximum period of one week .

EDITORIAL POLICY

Ethical and Publication Considerations for Authors.

a) Authorship.

Only those people who:

1. They have participated in the conception and realization of the work that has resulted in the article in question.

2. Have participated in the writing of the text and its possible revisions.

3. They have approved the version that will finally be published.

b) Conflict of interests.

Authors must describe possible financial or personal relationships that could give rise to a conflict of interest in relation to the article submitted for publication.

C) Responsibilities.

Works previously published or presented simultaneously in other journals will not be accepted. When experiments on human beings are reported, compliance and conformity with the ethical standards of the Ethics Committee for Clinical Research (institutional or regional) and in accordance with the World Medical Association and the Declaration of Helsinki (http: // www. wma.net/en/30publications/10policies/b3/)

Likewise, the authors must mention in the Methods section   that the procedures used in the patients and controls have been carried out after obtaining the appropriate informed consent and that, when necessary, the research protocol has been approved by an  Ethics Committee of a sufficient and recognized institution.

Additional Information:

Nutr Magazine. clin. diet. hosp. adopts the guidelines of the  Committee on Publication Ethics  (COPE;  http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines ) to improve practice in scientific and academic publications.

Plagiarism detection

Nutr Magazine. clin. diet. hosp. does not accept under any circumstances the publication of originals or plagiarized content, using the corresponding computer resources to do so.

Peer Review Policy.

The editorial team of Nutr. clin. diet. hosp. will carry out a first review on each submitted article to verify that its structure and contents adapt to the basic requirements of publication in the same. Subsequently, the Directorate of the Journal and / or the Editorial Committee will assign each original to a minimum of two expert reviewers, at least one of them being outside the editorial team.

These reviewers may a) accept the submitted work; b) issue recommendations for improvement or adaptations of this; c) definitively reject the submitted work.

The review process will be carried out 'blind', with neither the authors nor the reviewers having access to their respective identities. The review will be objective and positive.

Those who:

Have enough experience in the subject to review.

Respect the confidentiality of the data

They will not use the data or content of the articles they review for their own purposes or for third parties.

Likewise, they will declare their potential conflicts of interest

Your opinion will be free, not subject to prejudice or limitations of any kind

The recommendations of the reviewers and / or the Editorial Committee will be sent unified to the author responsible and signatory of the original article. Authors will be asked, where appropriate, the corresponding acceptance of the final version of their original before publication.

The personal data (names, email addresses, work centers of the authors and corresponding, etc.) entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the editorial and training purposes declared by the Nutr Magazine. clin. diet. hosp. as well as by its editors (Spanish Society of Dietetics and Food Sciences and the Healthy Eating Foundation).

For this reason, we inform you that your personal data will be incorporated into a Management file owned by the Spanish Society of Dietetics and Food Sciences in accordance with the provisions of the Law. Only in-depth quality reviews on topics of current interest with critical analysis are allowed to obtain useful, concrete and practical conclusions for readers. Review authors must be experienced and recognized professionals in their field.

The text must have a maximum length of 14 pages, 4 tables, 4 figures and 50 references.

Clinical cases and others

Clinical cases, news, reports, conferences, courses, calls for meetings and congresses as well as awards and scholarships may be accepted for publication. The extension and form of presentation of the texts received for this section will be subject without prior notification to the modifications that the Editorial Committee deems appropriate.

The personal data have been obtained in relation to the offer of services of the information society mentioned in article 8, paragraph 1.

When SEDCA as data controller has made the personal data public and is obliged, by virtue of the provisions above, to delete said data, taking into account the available technology and the cost of its application, it will adopt reasonable measures, including technical measures, with You aim to inform those responsible for processing personal data of the interested party's request to delete any link to that personal data, or any copy or replica of the same.

The right to limitation of processing

In relation to the provisions of article 18 of the RGPD of the European Union, the interested party or affected party will have the right to obtain from SEDCA as the data controller the limitation of data processing when any of the following conditions are met:

The interested party challenges the accuracy of the personal data, during a period that allows the person in charge to verify the accuracy of these.

The interested party has opposed the treatment under article 21, section 1 of the RGPD, while it is verified if the legitimate reasons of the person responsible prevail over those of the interested party or affected person in question.

When the processing of personal data has been limited by virtue of the provisions above, said data may only be processed, with the exception of its conservation, with the consent of the interested party or for the formulation, exercise or defense of claims, or with a view to protecting the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the Union or of a certain Member State.

Any interested party who has obtained the limitation of treatment in accordance with the provisions above will be informed by SEDCA as responsible for the treatment before the lifting of said limitation.
